Terek Host flag was described in Cossack Historical Calendar, 1955, Cleveland
(OH). It was also written there that only Don, Kuban and Terek Hosts had
specific host flags. Here this Terek Host flag is described as well

Janis found no
convincing information that Terek Host had a specific flag during the Russian
Civil war.

When the Terek Cossack Host was refounded in Russia in the 1990s, a
black-green-red horizontal tricolor was presented online as its flag; the
information has remained unverified since then [1]. In early 2026, though, its
use was reported on Reddit [2]: a young man from the city of Kyshtym,
Chelyabinsk Region has used a photo of this flag, with a rifle placed over it,
as his profile picture at a penpal website. No information on why he chose it to
represent himself - whether he is descended from Terek Cossacks or just likes
the flag design - was presented, although he did confirm to the Reddit user that
it is the Terek Cossacks' flag. Regardless of that, the flag must be unofficial
now, since the "registered" Terek Cossacks use different flags, which were
officially adopted in 2010 [1].
